Obituary

Ronald Kenneth Hinken, 87, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on December 2, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. Ron served as an Army MP during the Korean War. He retired as a lithographer and photoengraver in the printing trade in which he also worked as arbitrator for the union. Ron was a past active member of St. Henry Church and St. Pius X Church, an avid golfer, a member of Triple “E” Swim Club, and was known as the “Godfather” of Brookwood Swim Club. After retiring, he worked at Kenton County Golf Course as a starter and was a VIP (Volunteer in Police) for the City of Erlanger. Throughout his life, Ron was very involved with his family and friends and loved to travel.
Ron was preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Joyce Lee Hinken; his eldest son, Timmy Hinken; his siblings, Florence Berger and Lawrence “Bud” Hinken; and his step-son, Bob Moening.
He is survived by his second wife, Mary Ann Hinken; his children, Glenn (Cammie) Hinken, Pam (Jerry) Fitzpatrick, Mary Beth (Mike) Groneck; and John (Torre) Hinken; and his step-children, Kathy (Dale) Klare, Dave (Kathy) Moening, Carol Simpson, Don (Jane) Moening, and Karen Turner. Ron also leaves behind his ten grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and 32 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ron will be private due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
