Obituary

Marjorie Elizabeth Murphy, 96, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2021. She was born on September 4, 1924, in Newport, Kentucky to her late parents, John and Margaret Stickley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Murphy; her son, Tim Murphy; her daughter, Sharon Murphy; and her sisters, Joanne Stickley and Jackie Wydner. Left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Cathy Webster, Janet Correll (Jay Wessels), Colleen McClanahan, Cindy Courtney, Vickie Florence (Darrell), and Michele Murphy; her sister, Barbara Schuerman; and her grandchildren, Kari, Dan, Shawn, Tiffany, Adam, Ariel, Abby, Derek, Alex, Nikki, Mariah, and Randi; and 23 great-grandchildren. Marjorie loved her family and passed down her tradition of candy making to her children and grandchildren. She was also very crafty and loved sewing in addition to cake making and decorating. Marjorie was an avid Bingo and Bunko player at the R.C. Durr Senior Center. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Catholic Committal Service at 12:00 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 U.S. Hwy 42, Florence, KY 41042.
