Obituary
Lora Croley Jump, 81, of Latonia, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2021. Lora was born on August 13, 1939 in Siler, Kentucky to Cleve and Amanda (nee McKiddy) Croley. Lora graduated from Poplar Creek High School in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and moved to Covington in her early adulthood, where she was scooped up by a dashing Ed Jump, who she married in August 1961 and loved faithfully until his death in December 2012. Ed and Lora were the loving parents of 3 children, Pam, Vonda (Nate), and Darrell (Jen). Their lives were further blessed by 4 strong and beautiful granddaughters: Amanda, Missy, Sarah, and Bianca, and 17 great-grandchildren. Unfortunately, they lost a precious grandson, Ernie, at birth. Lora enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching and feeding the birds in her yard, and spending time with her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, other family members, and her special neighbor and church friends. Lora was a member of Runyan Memorial Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post #203, and she loved her Red Hatter friends. Lora had a generous heart and cared deeply for others. She especially loved to share her garden's treasures. Lora is survived by her children, Pam, Vonda, and Darrell; her granddaughters, Amanda, Missy, Sarah, and Bianca; her greatgrandchildren, Asaiah, Cadence, Elijah, Abigail, Ethan, Brennen, Natasha, T.J., Elijah, Lailah, Makiyah, Sarya, Sa'Ron, Ka'Shawn, Kayvion, Jaxon, and Samson; her siblings, Calvin (Eva), James (Betty), Ancil (Faye), Marcella (Daniel), and Cleo; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Cleve and Amanda Croley; her husband Ed; her grandson Ernie; her siblings Dina (Hiram), Noah (Carol), Charles (Penny), Bobbie, Billy, and Ortha; and several nephews. Lora's family would like to sincerely thank St. Elizabeth Hospice (and especially her nurse and friend, Vonnie Schworer), Hospice of Ohio, and Sunshine Terrace Home and Hospice of Logan, Utah (and her nurse, Priscilla, and chaplain, Amy), who cared for her so lovingly. Visitation will occur on Thursday, May 6 from 5-6 pm, with a service to follow at 6 pm at Connley Brothers Funeral Home at 11 East Sothern Avenue in Latonia, Kentucky. A celebration of Lora's wonderful life will occur immediately afterward at the American Legion, Post #203, 3801 Winston Avenue, Latonia. Lora will join Ed in the Chapel of the Risen Christ at Mother of God Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Lora (www.stjude.org; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
