Obituary

Leonard "Len" Harter Smeltzer Jr., 82, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Len, an accomplished engineer and proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati DAAP program, worked as a sales engineer for Kamen for over 15 years. Additionally, he enjoyed traveling with his family, especially to Hawaii and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. To Len, his family was everything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Vida Smeltzer; his son, Jeffrey Harter Smeltzer; and his beloved sister, Janet.
Len is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Katy Smeltzer (nee Schulte); his children, Melanie (Eric) Lennon, Ann Smeltzer, David (Margaret) Smeltzer, and Carrie (Scott) Katz; and his brother, Keith (Susan) Smeltzer.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kaayla, Talon, Michael, Ben, Conrad, Shawn, and Carson; and his great-grandchildren, Krista, Madelyn, and Milla.
Memorial visitation will be on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY. His ashes will be buried privately at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia, KY.
