Obituary

Kecia R. Glenn was born on April 19th, 1965 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati OH. She is the youngest daughter of Virginia Glenn and Edwin B. Ross Sr., who preceded her in death. After three years of battling several serious illnesses, including a recent discovery of several cancers, she was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 12th, 2021. She was 55 years old.
Kecia grew up in Walnut Hills attending Peoples High School in Madisonville. Although she did not graduate, she did eventually receive her G.E.D in 1996. It was during her early teenage years that she met her lifelong partner of over 40 years, James E. Ruff. To this union three children were born: daughters; Kezia & Taleka as well as a son, James. They then moved their family to Newport, KY, where she would live out rest of her days.
Kecia has always had a working spirit, in addition to an almost obsessive cleaning habit. She made sure that she kept a job to help provide for her family, while maintaining that their home stayed “spotless.” While working for Whole Foods Market, she would work her way up to a supervisor position before changing jobs to a childcare provider in her last years. She would also obtain a certificate of business and computer technology from the Water Tower Education Center in Newport, KY.
Plants and flowers were some of Kecia’s favorite things. Though she was somewhat of a homebody, Kecia loved to drink, dance and party with her family & friends. And she was no stranger to cooking, especially with the BBQ grill. She loved her grandkids. Watching, playing and spending time with them was one of her favorite pastimes. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her!
Kecia is survived by her spouse: James Ruff, children: Kezia Glenn (Keynonis Davis), Taleka Glenn, and James Glenn (Brittani Dukes); mother, Virginia Glenn; siblings, Teresa Willis, Lynne Harper (Ben), Edwin Ross (Gabi), Joann Ingram (Butch), David Ross (Eddie), Scott Ross (Stephanie), grandchildren; Keria, Clarissa, Jaden, Rayshawn, EJ, Noah, Jasmari, Eli, Omari, Brylie and Samara; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends & co-workers.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
