Obituary

John Charles Kohne, 79 of Independence, KY passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. John was a member of Holy Cross Parish, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Cusillo Movement. He was a retired yardmaster for CNO railroad and a retired cabinet maker. John was a knothole baseball coach and a family counselor director at Lakeside Park Nursing Home. He was a dedicated teacher for 1st grade CCD religion and 4H woodworking. John was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Bertha Kohne; brother: George Kohne and sister: Carol Kohne. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Donna Sue Kohne; children: Theresa (Herb) Moore, Tim (Luatani) Kohne, Barbara (David) Smith; sister: Mary (Tom) Gosney; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM followed by a prayer, rosary service and eulogy at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM (Noon) at the church. Burial will follow at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright, KY. Memorial donations in John's name may be made to Holy Cross Church (in the form of masses)
