Obituary
James “Jim” Allen Fischer, Age 74, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away after a three year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on Wednesday March 18th 2020. He was formerly of Covington; KY. Jim spent several years living in Alaska working on the Alaska pipeline. Before moving to Florida he retired as a metro city bus driver in Cincinnati, OH. Also Jim spent time as a barber cutting hair, he continued and loved cutting hair for family and friends.
Jim is survived by his Life Partner Joan Hines of Zephyrhills, Florida, Daughter Toni and Husband Bill Mueller of Nashville, TN, Daughter Kim and Husband Harry Carbonati of Moore Park, CA, Son William Combs of Phoenix, AZ, and Daughter Alice Jackson of Springfield, VA. Grandson’s Andrew Mueller, Scott Mueller, Chase Carbonati, Tanner Carbonati, Jamie Jackson, Granddaughter Jennifer Eisenach. Also Jim had Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
Jim loved his dog D.D., she was his baby.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Dean Jones, his daughter Michelle Fischer and his three Brothers Edward, David and Donny Fischer.
Jim attended New River Methodist Church in Westley Chapel. Also Jim was a member of the Elks Lodge 2731 of Zephyrhills, FL.
Jim loved to sing, anytime he got a chance. He would sing karaoke, sing with different bands throughout the community and sometimes in Nashville, TN. Being with Joan and singing with friends, being able to sing with a band is what he loved the most. He loved playing his guitar, singing in country jams around the area and in the Betmar community where he lived.
Jim had many friends throughout the community. He and Joan loved to go dancing, day trips, picnics and go to mini jams. Jim loved to sing so much he built a stage called “The Spot Where Friends Meet Friends”. It became a great music venue for friends to come and listen and perform.
Jim’s favorite music artist was Elvis Presley. He loved singing his songs and putting on shows dressed as Elvis. He was called the “Betmar Elvis”. He created many CDs for family and friends to have forever. He just finished a recording and Joan will have them put to CDs to give away for family and friends.
There will not be any services at this time due to the Corona Virus. Jim’s wishes were to have a Celebration of Life around his birthday November 9, 2020.
