Obituary

Helen L. Wells, 92, of Ft. Wright, KY passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021. She was a member of St. Agnes Parish, VFW Marshall-Schildmeyer Unit 6095 and a charter member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans, LA. Helen retired from the Northern Kentucky District Health Department in 1988 after 25 1/2 years of service. On her retirement she was named a Kentucky Colonel and a life member of the Kentucky Public Health Association. She was a lifetime member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 203 serving as Department President from 1991-1992. Helen assisted in the building of a habitat house in Washington D.C. along with President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn. She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Clay Wells; parents: Bernard and Anna Schildmeyer; children: Darlene Beyer, Donald Wells and Charlotte Shelton and grandsons: Brian Wells and Randy Shelton. Helen is survived by her children: Richard (Debby) Wells, Blanche (Daryl) Tepe, Benny Wells, Virginia Meeker and Michelle (Steve) Murphy; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1680 Dixie Hwy, Ft. Wright, KY 41011 on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright, KY. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, Kentucky is serving the family.
