Obituary

Evelyn (Evey) Daugherty, 76, of Newport, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 8, 2022. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed and loved taking care of her family and home. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 11. Evey was known as the cupcake grandma at the former A.D. Owens Elementary School in Newport, making sure every child had a cupcake on their birthday. You would see Evey volunteering the concessions stands at the Newport stadium, working the bingo kitchen at the American Legion or attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren. She was their number one fan. Evey was the daughter of the late Ray and Mary Mabel (Griffith) Bravard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Daughterty; sisters, Betty Dean and Darlene Bravard; grandson, Colin Sanders, and great-grand daughter, Everlie Rose Dieters. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Bryant) Fryman, Kim Daugherty-Colston and Melissa Asher; sister, Rita Bringer; brothers, Jasper, George and Sidney Bravard; grandchildren William Dieters, Ryan Fryman, Derick Dieters, Brandon Fryman, Caitie Wallace, Bridget (Michael) Garnett, Charles Michael Colston, Caralyne Wallace and Carson Sanders; 10 great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews. Visitation 11am to 1pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home (835 York Street), Newport, KY. Funeral Service will start at 1pm. Burial will take place at Mother of God Cemetery, Latonia, KY. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 S.
