Obituary

Phillip Richard Schewene, 79, of Elsmere, KY, formerly of Latonia, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He was a member of Holy Cross Church and a 1964 graduate of Holy Cross High School in Covington (Latonia), KY. Phillip attended a double master's degree program with Thomas More University and the University of Detroit. He graduated in 1969, obtaining master's degrees in both physics and engineering. Phillip went on to work for the United States government at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as an aerospace engineer for over 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Ruby Crawford Schewene and siblings: Robert Schewene, Donald Schewene, Louis Schewene and Paul Schewene. Phillip is survived by his siblings: Charles Schewene, Clifford Schewene, Sylvia Schewene and Alice Schewene and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 9:30 AM until the Catholic Prayer Service at 11:00 AM at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Interment will follow at Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 is serving the family.
