Obituary

Joanne Heger,77, of Covington, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was born in Covington, KY, on December 26, 1947, to the late Marvin and Edith Hamm.
Joanne dedicated her life to caring for others as a Home Health Nurse with American Nursing before retiring and focusing on being a devoted homemaker. In her free time, she found joy in listening to music, singing, playing board games, and sharing quiet walks, especially by the river. She was a lover of basset hounds and Elvis and had a strong faith, regularly attending church or watching services on TV. Above all, Joanne cherished spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.
Joanne was preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Hamm, Clarence Hamm, Howard Hamm, and Roy Hamm, as well as her sister Betty Smith. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 27 years, Greg Heger; daughter Leesa (Drew) Stanfill; grandchildren Bethany Grigson and Natalee Grigson; and great-granddaughter Noryan Grigson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the Funeral Service at 12:00 P.M. at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 West 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011. Interment will follow at Mother of God Cemetery.
